About the role

Chime is looking for an Intern to join our Funding Habits team. The Funding Habits team aims to re-imagine a seamless money-moving experience in Chime; eventually creating a habitual funding experience so users can experience all the valuable products that Chime has to offer. You will gain valuable professional experience working with cutting edge cloud technology platforms and distributed systems alongside engineers with a wealth of experience to share. This is an exciting opportunity to learn while playing a role in a critical initiative at Chime.


This role is structured as a 3 month engagement. The starting hourly rate offered for this role and target level of experience will begin at $34 and up to $49. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. 


In this role, you can expect to

  • Be part of an engineering team and learn to design, develop, test and scale systems in the real-world
  • Learn how to execute as a team; work across the engineering team to improve and uphold the high technical standards. 
  • Participate in full software development lifecycle, contribute to creating a technical design document, launch plan, on-call runbook, assist in troubleshooting and debugging issues 
  • Interact with cross functional teams like product, design, analytics, user research to understand member pain points and come up with solutions that enable a habitual funding experience in Chime
  • Additionally you will have the opportunity to learn and apply new technologies while working on real world projects under the guidance of experienced engineers


To thrive in this role, you

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or related field
  • Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Creative thinker and self starter with a passion for consumer FinTech
  • Enjoyment in learning and diving into the deepest levels of how things work
  • Are flexible and enjoy doing whatever it takes to execute on complex projects
  • Comfortable working directly well with a wide range of stakeholders
