Software Development Engineer in Test, Product Software - Mobile App
Autonomous vehicles have some of the largest, most complex software ever shipped in a safety-critical environment. Solving that problem is one of the most exciting technical challenges of our lifetime.
As a Software Development Engineer in Test on the Product Software Quality Assurance team, your role will focus on building scalable integration automation frameworks and enhancing existing frameworks for automated testing of mobile applications. You will design and implement functional and integration automation tests for mobile applications used by our customer fleet, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and reducing manual testing efforts. By prioritizing automation for repetitive tasks, developing robust regression suites, and focusing on edge cases and high-stress scenarios, you will ensure the reliability of safety-critical tools.
In this role, you will:
- Architect and maintain scalable mobile test automation frameworks.
- Lead test strategy development and implementation across mobile platforms.
- Create and execute automated tests for iOS and Android applications.
- Drive quality improvements through effective test coverage and bug detection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize testing workflows.
- Provide technical mentorship and framework support to team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with 5+ years of experience in mobile test automation.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Swift, Kotlin, and Java.
- Proven expertise with mobile app testing frameworks, including XCUITest and Compose, as well as design patterns.
- Proficient in using testing tools such as PyTest, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and JIRA.
- Experience with infrastructure technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Nginx.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience developing custom mobile testing tools.
- Performance testing and optimization expertise.
- API test automation and test data management experience.
CompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $135,000 to $180,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
