Description
As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO vision of the future, we are looking to add a hardworking individual to our Software Deployment Team. The Software Deployment Team is responsible to help ensure a high-fidelity fleet from a software perspective. They flash vehicles, capture Infotainment and audio logs and help root cause issues. They also assist in tool development and validation.

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the GM Global Technical Center - STC - Training Center at least three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Organize, plan, and coordinate activities of junior engineers.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Work with technical specialists to resolve flashing issues.
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of the team's workflows and processes to further efficiency.
  • Manage and lead multiple projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
  • Capture BUS logs and assist in troubleshooting when requested.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions and requirements and treat safety as the top priority during all work activities.
  • Complete special assignments as required.
  • This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.
  • The individual will be in the office Monday through Friday with work from home days when possible.


Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years working in an automotive environment.
  • Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to collaborate effectively with team and business associates.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving capability.
  • Demonstrated high level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and lead with minimal supervision, ability to prioritize assignments / projects and multi-task within time constraints.
  • Strong understanding of major automotive systems and subsystems.
  • Knowledge of serial data communications.
  • Understanding of flashing processes.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of relevant technologies (eg. Infotainment, Active Safety, Cybersecurity)
  • Ability to work out of a variety of locations including Milford Proving Grounds, Warren Reflash Center and other remote locations as needed.


What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Vehicle development, calibration, integration, diagnostics experience.
  • Understanding GM software release process.
  • Solid understanding of the GM development process.
  • Solid understanding of Functional Safety.
  • Good understanding of Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
  • Familiarity with GM software architecture and flashing techniques


Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is : $75,000 - $119,000 . Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
