Position Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Cloud Architecture, the Software Architect is responsible for creating and improving software architecture, design, and code, and coaching and mentoring software engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Recommend technical approaches and craft technical solutions to business problems.
- Design software applications from the ground up.
- Author code that could be followed by others.
- Participate in architecture reviews and code reviews.
- Support engineering team during development and testing, providing input on design, approach, techniques, and code.
- Participate in production issue troubleshooting.
- Provide ideas to improve architecture and reduce technical debts.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, architecture paradigms, and tools.
- Develop Proof Of Concepts (POCs) and prototypes for internal and external clients.
- Document technical architecture and approach.
- Mentor and coach software engineers.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Education:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent and/or appropriate experience.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in software development.
- 6+ years of experience in distributed architecture, multi-tenant SaaS, and cloud technologies.
- Expert-level understanding of architecture paradigms, design patterns, and programming principles.
- Strong expertise in C#.Net, SQL/non-SQL, Azure native technologies, and other Microsoft technologies.
- Prior experience in eClinical domain, life sciences, or highly regulated industries is strongly preferred.
