We're hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager for Core Data Platform, reporting to our Head of Technical Program Management within our TPM team.
You are a TPM with a background in Core Data and related Infrastructure
You understand business objectives and translate them into technical systems problems that need to be prioritized solved in the current business environment.
Define specific systems programs and create a plan of action for realizing those programs. Such programs could be around reliability improvements and more.
Use your technical understanding of Atlassian and related systems to partner with and influence engineers and architects in making progress on these problems.
Responsible for taking a systematic approach to engineering problems. This includes: prioritizing tasks, scoping out the project, defining objectives, and making consistent progress against each of these.
Be accountable for the success of these technical programs by managing the entire lifecycle from initiation to forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, etc.
Manage complex dependencies and projects with a broad scope across the company
Collaborate with functions across the company to create reliable and cost-effective disaster recovery solutions for all of Atlassian's services
Your background

  • 5+ years recent experience collaborating with software teams to deliver software services/solutions in similar relevant roles such as Technical Platform Product Manager, Technical/Software Program Manager, or Engineering/Development Manager
  • Experience in designing and building back end software systems, including tradeoffs, launching and scaling. Using this technical expertise and in partnership with your engineering stakeholders you'll be able to influence the backend system design, architecture, and build.
  • Experience analysing business priorities, customer needs, industry trends and articulating a technical roadmap for your product area in collaboration with engineering partners
  • You've led complex technical projects end to end, spanning multiple teams and dependancies, including collaborating with engineering stakeholders, identifying and mitigating risks, and making trade-off decisions to optimise the outcome
  • Able to translate customer and/or product requirements into technical requirements
  • Experience building commercial Cloud Services is a big plus


Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $171,700 - $229,000
Zone B: $154,500 - $206,100
Zone C: $142,500 - $190,000
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
