Senior Tax Accountant

Applicants for this role will have the flexibility to work remotely anywhere in the Continental United States.

Position Purpose: Review and assist with the preparation of state income, local income, and franchise tax returns, including estimated tax payments and extension calculations.

• Prepare and review state and city income/ franchise tax returns and supporting schedules
• Prepare and review state modification calculations for inclusion in our state provision and returns
• Calculate state estimated payments and extension payments
• Analyze and respond to state tax notices
• Defend against state tax audits by gathering information and preparing and/ or reviewing workpapers
• Model state tax impact of potential transactions
• Research state tax laws and apply them to relevant facts
• Collaborate on process improvement and automation projects
• Assist with special projects as needed

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 4+ years of accounting experience (tax experience preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access applications.
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Checkpoint, and OneSource preferred.
   

License/Certification:

• CPA preferred.

Pay Range: $68,700.00 - $123,700.00 per year
