The Role

Atlassian is an established, publicly-traded tech company with a growing tax function. We are looking for a US Tax Planning Senior to join our Global Tax Team.
You will report to the Director of US Tax Planning and you will assist with the tax modeling and analysis that will empower the company to navigate the ever-evolving global tax environment and make informed strategic decisions.   • Research, analyze and model US tax planning alternatives to optimize the company's global tax position
  • Collaborate with other cross functional teams on tax impacts of new initiatives, structure simplification and cash tax forecasting
  • Facilitate integration projects for entities acquired through M&A
  • Assist with US income tax controversies and audits
  • Monitor and assess the impact of changes in US tax legislation
  • Support the implementation and modeling of the US tax aspects of Pillar II


  • 3-5+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or in-house corporate team.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
  • Master's degree in taxation preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent license required.
  • Understanding of ASC 740, income tax accounting concepts and US international tax laws a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including index/match and pivot tables) with an interest in process improvement and automation.
  • Experience with ERP software, tax forecasting tools software a plus.
  • Ownership mentality, intellectual curiosity, and an ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $117,800 - $157,100
Zone B: $106,000 - $141,400
Zone C: $97,800 - $130,400
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
