Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to take ownership of testing and quality assurance for our InfoWorks Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) application. InfoWorks ICM is a powerful software that helps users model complex hydraulic and hydrologic network elements quickly, accurately, and collaboratively. You will be responsible for developing and executing test plans, reporting defects, developing and running regression automation scripts, and analysing failures. You are a highly motivated and creative software test engineer who is ready to participate in an agile team environment and contribute to the success of Autodesk. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfil end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
  • Plan and execute manual test cases to test on-going feature development for Autodesk’s Water Lifecycle desktop products.
  • Report and filter test results so that the Scrum teams can get meaningful feedback.
  • Develop and run automated regression tests using OpenText (Micro Focus) Unified Functional Test (UFT) and analyse any script failures.
  • Assist with creating and keeping QA documentation up to date.
  • Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with engineering software.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • In-depth knowledge using OpenText (Micro Focus) Unified Functional Testing (UFT) or similar automation applications to develop and execute automated test scripts for desktop products.
  • Detailed knowledge of software testing principles & best practices.
  • Excellent communication and verbal skills required to interact with end users and to define problems and propose resolutions.
  • 5+ years industry experience working in a fast-paced agile scrum development environment and working on high-performance, high-availability, distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to GIS and/or use of geospatial data.
  • Experience working with water modelling.
  • Experience managing complex projects and working with software development team(s)
