The Digital Pathology Algorithm Development team needs a Senior Software Engineer to contribute, collaborate and partner in our QCS Algorithm Framework development program. The opportunity involves active collaborations with fellow developers, product owners, test engineers, release train engineers and other product development team members. The Senior Engineer will contribute to the design & development algorithm framework and support deployments in various environments.  

We are seeking a candidate with a robust background in software development, showcasing a deep-seated passion for ensuring quality, reliability and security at every stage. Your proven expertise in this area will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity & performance of our systems as we continue to innovate and evolve.

The Opportunity

  • This is a hands-on software development position to write high quality software that will perform at scale, be supportable, and be extensible.

  • Contribute to the design effort for a system component, plan & deliver high-quality software independently, maintaining excellence in execution.

  • Participate in product design and development, customer training and support activities as needed.

  • Provide guidance during code reviews, key technical decisions and in the design specification of products.

  • Ensure seamless integration of the software stack with our existing CI pipeline, contributing to continuous improvements.
     

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with a minimum of 3 plus years of experience in a software development role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proficient hands-on software development experience in C++ and Python

  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems, with proficiency in Shell scripting and internals.

  • Strong working knowledge of AWS Cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, API Gateway, RDS, VPC peering, Route53, S3, and Autoscaling.

  • Experience in crafting relational data models, and with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) database engines.

  • Quick learner with the ability to understand complex workflows and develop and validate innovative solutions to solve difficult problems.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Familiarity with DevOps automation tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Ansible etc.

  • Experience developing and deploying production software using public cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.

  • Passionate for continuous improvement in software development processes & framework.
