About the Role:

Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Data Warehouse (ClickHouse)

The Infrastructure Engineer will spearhead our messaging systems, focusing on the robust and efficient deployment of Clickhouse clusters across multiple environments. You will grow our data warehouse, storing real-time data from several hundred thousand vehicles up to several million. You will collaborate closely with other engineers to gauge volume requirements and ensure our infrastructure aligns with company goals. Your role is critical in shaping our platform's future through various strategic projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, set up, and manage redundant and scalable ClickHouse clusters across multiple cloud providers.
  • Educate and train team members on ClickHouse cluster design and management.
  • Maintain and enhance essential IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure system security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Automate infrastructure processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Monitor performance and manage infrastructure incidents.
  • Develop cost-effective strategies while maintaining high-quality standards.

What you should know:

  • Proven expertise in managing large-scale ClickHouse deployments.
  • In-depth understanding of ClickHouse architecture, including configuration, scaling, and cluster management.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and managing databases across multiple environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes, and additional IaC tools for efficient infrastructure management.
  • Expertise in Python for scripting and automation.
  • Solid understanding of SRE principles and quick problem-resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership skills with minimal oversight are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with GitLab CI implementations.
  • Proficiency in managing ClickHouse clusters, including setup, scaling, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with Golang, particularly in developing internal tools.
  • Proficiency in using Datadog for monitoring and PagerDuty for incident management.
