We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Security Specialist/Contractor Special Security Officer with a comprehensive background in all security disciplines across government agencies. This role will emphasize clearance processing, communications security (COMSEC), classified information systems security, and physical security. The successful candidate will play a critical role in coordinating and monitoring sensitive aspects of the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community, and industrial security programs, ensuring strict compliance with both government and company security policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be able to support in the office 5 days a week.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Protect classified government information by ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures across personnel, physical, and administrative security systems.
  • Support security programs across multiple facilities
  • Manage security clearance processes, including handling records and processing documents for personnel requiring access under multiple government contracts and subcontracts.
  • Develop and deliver security briefings and training programs for cleared personnel, ensuring ongoing education regarding security best practices.
  • Establish, implement, and update security procedures in alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Independently perform tasks, drawing from prior experience in: processing incoming and outgoing classified documents and materials.
  • Expertly utilizing DISS, NBIS & Scattered Castles for security clearance management.
  • Managing classified visits, including handling passing visits through customer-specific protocols.
  • Investigating security violations, preparing reports, and recommending preventive actions.
  • Providing facility security support, including alarm checks, program access controls, alarm response, and issuing badges.
  • Conducting security self-reviews and following up on corrective actions.
  • Personnel security processing, including pre-screening and adjudications.
  • Preparing and submitting required security documentation such as Reinstatements, Crossovers, Nomination Letters, 4311s, CPRLs, JAFAN SAP Formats, RFAs, and XOBs.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of SF86 forms (both paper and e-App) before submission.
  • Offering guidance on classification determinations and marking guidelines to employees and subcontractors.
  • Providing security indoctrinations, debriefings, and annual refresher training sessions.
  • Processing and maintaining subcontract DD254s and managing SCI, SAP, nomination packages and billet rosters.
  • Supporting onsite security activities across all areas, including Program, Personnel, Physical, COMSEC, and Information Security.
  • Familiarity with COMSEC responsibilities
  • Offering training on security-related equipment, such as vIPers, shredders, intrusion detection devices, and electronic security access systems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current SCI access with 7+ years of related experience.
  • Associates Degree; Bachelor’s Degree and additional security certifications preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of and demonstrated experience with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), ICDs, and other national-level security and Intelligence Community directives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with government partners, security counterparts, program managers, and offices within the Intelligence Community and defense industry partners to successfully execute program activities.
  • Strong customer service orientation and team-oriented attitude, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
