This role has a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite) for candidates based in Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, Plano, TX, Indianapolis, IN and Columbus, OH.
Job description:
The Global Finance Technology organization is looking to add Senior Software ABAP Developer to their SAP technical team. This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact and be part of a groundbreaking journey. The candidate will work on new projects in the Cloud to drive the adoption of SAP's flagship ERP product SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Public Edition. Gain valuable insights into critical business processes at the core of S/4 HANA Cloud, while engaging directly with our large customer base. Lead and own the entire development process, from designing and implementing user-friendly UIs to developing robust back-end functionalities.
About the job:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions within SAP systems.
  • Develop and maintain complex SAP ABAP programs, interfaces, reports, and enhancements to meet business needs, ensuring high quality, scalability, and performance.
  • Utilize advanced ABAP programming techniques, including ABAP Programming on HANA, to leverage the capabilities of HANA database for optimized performance and efficiency.
  • Apply object-oriented ABAP principles for modular, reusable, and maintainable code development.
  • Utilize SAP Data Dictionary for effective management and manipulation of SAP data structures.
  • Design and implement comprehensive solutions using SAP technologies such as Function Modules, SAP Enhancement Framework, and Reports.
  • Conduct thorough testing of developed solutions to ensure functionality, integrity, and compliance with technical specifications.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for SAP systems, resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of SAP development activities with overall business objectives and priorities.
  • Stay updated on latest SAP technologies and industry best practices, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of SAP experience with 6+ years focused on ABAP development.
  • Candidate must have strong object-oriented programming expertise.
  • Experience with the FI modules of SAP S/4 and the Finance business process.
  • Experience in ABAP on HANA development on version 2022 (or higher) is preferred.
  • Experience in ABAP and CDS view development on S/4 HANA.
  • Experience with standard API's in S/4 HANA and SAP Cloud Platform Integration capabilities and tools.
  • Experience with SAP systems, applications, integrations, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with On-Premises and Cloud Application Management and Support.
  • Experience with SAP Finance HANA implementation.
  • Experience with SAP Treasury applications is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Fiori Spaces & Spaces is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work with ambiguous and incomplete information.
  • Good understanding of agile software development concepts and processes including backlog tracking, prioritization, strong collaboration within a scrum team and adaptability through incremental delivery.
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker, have extensive consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.
