About the role
The Senior Revenue Analyst position will report to the Manager, Technical Accounting and work closely with our Streaming Services Distribution, Media and Entertainment, The Roku Channel (“TRC”) and FP&A teams. Within the context of Roku’s rapid growth/expansion, this person will start as an individual contributor, learning the complex and evolving processes, data, and product structures while contributing to monthly and quarterly close activities for revenue and TRC related activities, validating and reconciling revenue and TRC related accounts, assisting in analyzing data, and preparing reports for auditors and management. An ideal candidate should possess great attention to detail, thorough knowledge of US-GAAP, and be proactive/highly motivated to get things done. We are looking for a high-energy, hands-on individual with the ability to work independently and cooperatively with other teams.
What you’ll be doing
- Review new and existing Streaming Services Distribution and TRC agreements to ensure compliance with GAAP
- Partner cross functionally with FP&A, Legal, Content Acquisition, Ad Sales/Online Media, and Enterprise Engineering to implement best practices, automation, and continuous process improvements
- Research accounting topics and prepare and/or update relevant revenue memos
- Prepare and update annual or quarterly SSP and FV analyses and memos and ensure compliance of SOX 404 Key controls
- Aid in quarterly and annual disclosures for financial reporting
- Maintain and provide quarterly and annual audit support as requested by internal and external auditors
- Assist in evolving projects / responsibilities, including acquisition consolidated reporting and process automation
We’re excited if you have
- Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
- 6+ years of Big 4 experience is a plus
- CPA is required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
- Prior experience in the digital advertising ecosystem preferred
- Superior Excel skills
- Solid revenue recognition knowledge, familiar with ASC 606
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills combined with good business judgment
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills
- Motivated by dynamic and challenging environment
- Flexible and able to manage multiple and constantly changing priorities
