Cloudera is looking for a Sr. Product Manager who can drive the evolution of Private Cloud Data Services aka PVC-DS Portfolio. PVC-DS is the future computing stack for Cloudera customers who process more than 5 Exabytes of data stored in CDP on 500,000+ servers. Nine out of the world’s top ten largest customers in Banking, Insurance, Technology, Automotive and Telecommunications industries use CDP as their trusted data platform. This role will have a lasting impact on the strategic direction of the company, customer success and the broader computing industry.

Ideal Candidate: You are an experienced product leader with a proven track record in the technology industry and a deep knowledge of the craft of product management. You drive the development, evolution and adoption of Cloudera’s Private Cloud Data Services platform, an enterprise ready Kubernetes Platform, on which Data Services are built and shipped. The platform is built on Kubernetes that has been enhanced, hardened and customized to allow diverse workloads to run reliably and efficiently on it. Data Services are Cloudera’s data processing services built for the following types of enterprise workloads -- batch processing, real time analytics processing, data science, ML Ops, stream processing and OLTP. We need a product leader to make this nascent platform the foundation on which a mass-market Data Services business is built.

As a Sr. Product Manager you will: 

  • Shape Product Strategy: Drive a product strategy that appeals to the unique needs of Cloudera customers

  • Drive Product Execution: Define product requirements and partner closely with engineering to ship impactful product releases

  • Drive field and customer enablement: Drive field enablement and identify new opportunities for Cloudera to innovate on behalf of our customers

  • Establish Product-Market fit and Grow the business: Customer development and product launch and evangelism

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Drive to build the foundational platform for Cloudera that will make Cloudera into the market’s leading Hybrid Cloud Data Platforms product in the next 3 years

  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data from disparate sources in order to drive conclusions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, applied equally well to both technical and non-technical stakeholders using the written word, as well as data and metrics

  • Technical and business acumen to interface with teams of all levels and disciplines within an organization, from engineers to senior leadership

  • Empathy to understand other perspectives, and discernment to incorporate them into your decision-making process

  • 3+ years in product management

  • 3+ years of industry experience in the Technology industry

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience

  • Product skills:  

    • Customer obsession in the B2B space

    • Product sense

    • Writing compelling narratives

    • Understand what enterprise readiness means

  • Domain knowledge: 

    • Deep experience with developing & operating enterprise applications built upon cloud native infrastructure

    • Knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, public cloud & private cloud.

    • Hands-on experience with databases

    • The knowledge of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud ecosystem

  • Leadership:  

    • Self-aware, empathetic and coachable

    • Take full ownership; deliver results

    • Dive deep

    • Structured decision-maker

Travel: Some travel would be required to Silicon Valley for work engagements. Ability to travel to meet customers and attend conferences as required.
