Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
We are looking for a senior principal engineer to join the Teamwork Graph team and lead a group of talented engineers who are responsible for helping build and deploy the knowledge graph of how teams work together. The graph enables various Atlassian products to work together more effectively. Checkout this clip from the recent founder keynote for more details. You will work closely with the Teamwork Platform leadership team to define and execute the vision and strategy for data architecture, indexing, and various APIs using AI models as applicable. You will also collaborate with the federated product teams and other central orgs to integrate the Teamwork knowledge deeply in various products such as Search, Jira, Confluence, and many upcoming ones. The graph will also be a key input to Atlassian Intelligence and AI powered products.
Responsibilities:

  • Process and structure large amounts of graph data to power applications across Atlassian

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, present technical concepts and results clearly and concisely, and solicit feedback and input from various stakeholders.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience building and scaling business applications and systems using large amounts of data
  • Built generalizable platforms with a keen eye on empowering applications in product
  • Agile development mindset, appreciating the benefit of iteration and improvement
