We are seeking a Senior Occupancy Planner to lead all aspects of planning and effectively applying our company's real estate. This position involves coordinating the optimization of space to improve efficiency and employee satisfaction. This role will use data-driven insights to improve space utilization, drive planning decisions, and run ongoing optimization of the workplace environment.
This full-time position is in-office 5 days a week in our San Mateo, CA office and will report to VP, Facilities.
You will:
- Develop and implement strategic occupancy planning initiatives to maximize the efficiency of space usage across facilities.
- Conduct detailed analysis on occupancy utilization, occupancy, and density to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
- Proactively plan for future occupancy needs based on headcount forecasts, organizational growth, and employee needs.
- Conduct MAC’s based on company objectives and YoY growth.
- Assist with the development of occupancy scenarios and financial analyses for potential real estate projects.
- Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for space utilization and planning efficiency.
- Use data to generate insights and recommendations for maximizing the productivity and functionality of spaces.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including department heads, Facilities, HR, and Real Estate teams.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, demonstrating strong organizational skills, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards while maintaining high levels of professionalism and service.
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Facilities Management, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in occupancy planning, corporate real estate, or facilities management.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD preferred) and experience with space planning tools (e.g., CAFM, IWMS).
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of utilizing data to drive space and real estate decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence team members.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to space planning and building operations.
- Proven track record to run multiple projects simultaneously with integrity and a high degree of accuracy.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

$133,430—$163,460 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
