The Marketing & Communications team at Twitch serves to authentically activate the Twitch community (and beyond) in ways that inform and inspire. Members of our team work across a range of areas including internal and external communications, content & partnerships, creative services, and marketing strategy.

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of Twitch’s corporate and crisis communications strategy. You will report to the Head of Corporate Communications and be responsible for managing issues and media relations that have the potential to impact community trust and reputation. This person must have demonstrated experience in regularly engaging with media and influencing the tone and premise of a story.

In this role, the individual will intake press inquiries, work with business partners on messaging, and make recommendations on the communications approach for escalations related to topics such as community safety, business performance, and product updates. In addition to reactive issues management, this person will coordinate with peers and partner teams to understand areas where Twitch can proactively amplify key narratives with media to validate community trust and Twitch's reputation as the leader in livestreaming.

This position is ideal for someone who excels in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. The individual must be able to think quickly, manage multiple ongoing issues on parallel paths, understand technical and nuanced topic areas, have exceptional writing skills, and deliver communications strategy concisely with a variety of stakeholders. This ideal candidate is people-oriented and culturally attuned, with a passion for Twitch and our people. You are comfortable with highly structured work as well as ambiguity, high-level strategizing, and detail-oriented execution. You can lead with influence and are confident and comfortable working closely with senior executives.

This role may be based in San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Irvine, CA; or Seattle, WA.

You Will:

  • Manage day-to-day reactive media inquiries, diving deep with colleagues to fact find and identify ground truths, and work directly with reporters to represent Twitch
  • Have a proven ability to formulate a clear point of view, developing concise and well-written narratives and recommendations
  • Monitor, assess, escalate, and resolve a variety of reactive issues occurring simultaneously with excellent judgement
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets/reporters to discuss and manage challenging stories, correct inaccuracies, and establish a connection point for future story development
  • Develop reactive messaging, FAQs, and forward-looking scenario plans for emerging issues
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior executives

You Have:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate communications, including experience working in-house
  • Established relationships with a broad range of media and outlets
  • Proven success building and implementing corporate communications programs
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in dynamic environments
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills
  • Experience counseling C-level executives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Enthusiasm for Twitch and our community
