The Role
The Square Point of Sale mobile applications are the main entry point through which merchants interact with Square. The Modes and Settings team is responsible for building and maintaining remote settings and configuration management infrastructure that our sellers interact with many times a day.

You Will

  • Lead the engineering implementation of seller-facing projects, from conceptualization to rollout.
  • Work on mobile apps at all levels - from networking to user interfaces and whatever's in between.
  • Build high availability and highly resilient systems which can accept and accurately report payments no matter the network or device conditions.
  • Collaborate with iOS, Android, and Server engineers to ship features.
  • Work closely with product managers and designers to iterate on and define product scope and design.
  • Respond to customer feedback to continuously improve our products.


You Have

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in mobile (iOS) software development
  • Experience with Swift and/or ObjC
  • Experience with developing mid to large scale complex features.
  • Experience with SDK or Framework development.
  • Excellent software engineering aptitude and a product mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and a strong desire to deliver a great product.
  • A strong sense of customer empathy and an interest in influencing the product direction.
