As a part of the Infrastructure Foundation Software team you will drive the evolution and revolution of Roblox foundation tooling system to manage private and public infrastructure resources to support 79.5 million users every day. You will design, test, monitor, and write tools to manage our infrastructure while driving down the Infra Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

You will report to the Infra Foundation Software Engineering Manager.

  • Design & develop web applications, forecasts, alerts, and recommendations to enable stakeholders manage their infrastructure budget and make tactical & strategic decisions to improve infrastructure efficiency and performance. 
  • Design & develop groundbreaking tools, APIs and automations to plan and manage our on-prem & cloud capacity.
  • Design & build data pipelines that powers all the products mentioned above. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across functions (e.g., infra, platform, product, operations, finance) to develop unique solutions to visualize and manage our infrastructure more efficiently.
  • Create, influence, and improve the infrastructure, standards, and methods to ensure our goals of scalability and high availability.

  • A BS degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Computer Science or related engineering field with at least 4 years of hands-on experience.
  • Experience in many programming languages such as Python, Javascript/Node.js, Go, C#, Java, or similar.
  • Experience building web applications (using modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue), as well as internal tooling & APIs to support large-scale infrastructure
  • Familiarity with batch ETL pipeline development, SQL and data modeling using technology like Spark, Hadoop and Data Warehouse is a plus. 
  • Knowledge in on-prem and public cloud infrastructure, and capacity planning is a plus.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$189,110$233,840 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).

We are requiring employees to be in the office three days a week – with core days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Mondays and Fridays, employees may choose to work remotely, although the office will still be open.
