About the Role
We are seeking a talented Full-Stack Engineer to join our team as our first in-house engineering hire. This role will involve building and managing a portfolio of sites primarily built on NextJS, Strapi and Node.js. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with and building around both unstructured and structured data, and first-party data. You will be responsible for creating and developing products from scratch incredibly quickly, as we operate in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:

Develop and maintain a portfolio of websites using NextJS and a CMS such as Sanity or Strapi

Design, implement, and manage databases, working with both structured and unstructured data, as well as first-party data

Create and develop products from scratch quickly to meet the dynamic needs of our business

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Content, Marketing and Editorial
-
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability

Ensure technical proficiency for SEO and site ranking

Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
-
Implement data analytics tools to track and analyze website performance
-
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing applications and provide technical support as needed

Take full responsibility for the engineering function as the first in-house engineering hire

Stay updated with emerging technologies and apply them to improve the platforms
What You’ve Done Before:
-
5+ years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer, with a strong focus on web development
-
Proficiency in NextJS and experience building with CMS platforms such as Sanity or Strapi

Experience with front-end technologies, including React and Angular/Vue

Experience with back-end technologies, including Node and Express
-
Familiarity with database management systems, including Postgres and Mongo

Experience working with and building around unstructured and structured data
-
Extensive experience working with and maximizing the capture of first-party data
-
Proven ability to create and develop products from scratch quickly
-
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
-
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Thorough understanding of SEO principles and best practices

Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure
