About this Job

We are seeking a skilled Senior FPGA Development Engineer to join our team at Eridan. In this role, you will lead the integration and testing of FPGA projects, with a focus on our 4x4 ORAN project and Eridan SOM optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to propose and implement enhancements, validate changes on hardware and simulation platforms, and resolve technical challenges. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of wireless communication through innovative FPGA solutions.

As our Senior FPGA Development Engineer, you will:


  • FPGA Project Development & Integration: Lead the integration and testing of the 4x4 ORAN FPGA project, and propose changes to enable Carrier Aggregation features.
  • Eridan SOM Optimization: Collaborate with the team to optimize POST functions and enhance the performance of Eridan's System on Module (SOM) initiative.
  • Validation & Debugging: Independently validate FPGA project changes on hardware and simulation platforms to ensure accurate functionality.
  • Technical Challenges & Problem-Solving: Resolve chip fitting, timing closure, and simulation limitations while supporting bring-up and debugging activities in the lab environment.

Qualifications of a Successful Candidate

  • 3+ years of FPGA development experience.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog, and VHDL programming languages.
  • Proficiency in AMD (Xilinx) chip base and primitives.
  • Experience with good digital design principles and practices.
  • Experience with AMD (Xilinx) Vivado/Vitis integration tools.
  • Experience with Siemens Questa simulation tools.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub and general principles of Continuous Integration process.
  • Experience with scripting and Linux environments.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of ORAN WG4 specifications and 5G technology.
  • Experience with packet-based timing protocols such as Ethernet, PTP, SyncE.
  • Strong debugging skills using JTAG, ILA, and the Vivado/Vitis toolset.
  • Familiarity with software programming in C, C++, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with UVM environment and validation methodologies.
  • Experience with Agile development and Atlassian tool set such as Jira and Confluence

Salary Range

Given our anticipated growth, we are open to hiring individuals with varying levels of experience to fill this role. Salary will be commensurate with job-related skills, experience and other relevant factors. The base salary range for the primary location of this role is between $140,000 and $180,000 plus stock options and benefits.
