We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Client Platform organization, which includes both our Frontend Platform and Mobile Platform teams.

These teams are responsible for the shared foundations that power Homebase’s web, iOS, and Android experiences. They build the architecture, tooling, frameworks, and developer experience that enable product teams to ship quickly and safely across every customer-facing surface.

This role is central to increasing engineering velocity, improving quality and consistency, and enabling our evolution toward AI-powered, agentic product experiences. You will lead managers and senior ICs across two platform teams, balancing near-term delivery with long-term leverage and architectural clarity.

You will operate as a systems thinker who connects frontend, mobile, platform strategy, and AI enablement into a cohesive vision that accelerates the entire product organization.

These are the key ways you’ll create impact in this role:

Lead and grow two platform teams

  • Manage the Frontend Platform and Mobile Platform teams.

  • Set a high bar for technical excellence, accountability, and sustainable velocity.

  • Develop strong leaders and create clear ownership boundaries across web and mobile platform domains.

Define and evolve client platform strategy

  • Establish a cohesive architecture vision across web, iOS, and Android.

  • Drive improvements in shared frameworks, design systems, CI/CD, testing strategy, release processes, observability, and performance foundations.

  • Increase reuse and consistency across surfaces while enabling product teams to move independently.

Improve developer experience and velocity

  • Invest in tooling, automation, and internal platforms that reduce friction and cognitive load for product engineers.

  • Measure and improve key signals such as cycle time, defect rates, release stability, and developer satisfaction.

  • Standardize best practices across client engineering.

Enable AI-first development

  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted development workflows across frontend and mobile engineering, including code generation, testing, debugging, and release validation.

  • Partner with AI and Data teams to ensure our client foundations support AI-powered and agentic product capabilities.

  • Set measurable expectations around AI-enabled productivity gains.

Stay close to the details

  • Review designs and architectural proposals.

  • Unblock complex cross-team technical challenges.

  • Ensure platform investments translate into tangible gains for product teams.

Strengthen in-person collaboration

  • Build strong in-office working rhythms that reinforce trust, alignment, and fast decision-making across hubs.

🚀 The Foundation for Success - These are the experiences and strengths that will set you up for success in this role:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with depth in frontend and/or mobile development.

  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, including managing senior engineers and/or managers.

  • Experience leading platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling teams that support multiple product teams.

  • Strong architectural judgment across client technologies such as web frontend frameworks, iOS, and Android.

  • Demonstrated ability to improve developer productivity through platform investments, automation, and AI tooling.

  • Track record of balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term platform leverage.

  • Clear, direct communicator who combines empathy with decisiveness.

  • 🤖 AI Fluency (Required) - AI fluency is core to how we build. In this role, you will:

    • Ensure your teams use AI tools as a standard part of their development workflows.

    • Coach engineers and managers on where AI meaningfully improves speed, quality, and learning.

    • Define metrics that demonstrate AI-enabled impact at the platform and product team levels.

    • Partner with engineering leadership to shape and evolve Homebase’s AI development standards.
