Position Overview

The Senior Product Manager - Data is a key role that works collaboratively across the organization and with customers to deliver market competitive, compelling and differentiated commercial products. The Senior Product Manager will leverage design thinking to lead the charge in creating innovative and user-centric digital solutions. This role is responsible for the development and enhancement of a specific application or suite of applications. By applying design thinking principles, the Senior Product Manager will steer product strategy, enhance user experiences, and contribute to the overall success of the product.

Job Duties

  • Lead the end-to-end development of AI features, including defining use cases, coordinating with AI/ML teams on model development, overseeing integration into the product, and managing the iterative improvement process based on real-world performance and user feedback.
  • Drive the development of data products that enhance decision-making processes, automate underwriting, improve risk assessment, and optimize claims processing.
  • Orchestrate the end-to-end product development lifecycle for AI and data features, from ideation and prototyping to launch and post-launch optimization.
  • Translate complex data science and AI concepts into clear, actionable product requirements and user stories that address specific insurance industry challenges
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize platform requirements, defining outcomes based on stakeholder input and market trends.
  • Work with UX/UI designers to create intuitive interfaces for data visualization and AI-powered features, ensuring accessibility for both technical and non-technical users. 
  • Foster collaboration and communication across teams to meet product development milestones and to ensure unified vision and execution of the platform.
  • Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions about platform features and optimizations. 
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies for improvement. 
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in platform development and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies. 
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for platform enhancements and innovation. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of enterprise software product management experience
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience successfully translating complex business requirements into production-ready AI/ML solutions, with a proven track record of managing the full lifecycle of AI-driven features from conception to deployment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data product development and AI/ML technologies, including implementing industry best practices and deploying production solutions.
  • Experience in delivering products that involve NLP and Data Modeling
  • Some knowledge of commercial insurance preferred but more importantly the attitude to learn fast and support the team
  • Experience with PAS (policy administration system) and digital insurance products is a plus 
  • Strong understanding of core AI/ML concepts including natural language processing, machine learning models, and AI model deployment pipelines
  • Experience with AI model evaluation metrics, testing methodologies, and performance optimization
  • Proven track record of translating business requirements into AI-driven solutions and features
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements for AI systems
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in workflow or prioritization 
  • Excellent written communication skills with a focus on translating complex issues into simple, easy to digest documents 
  • Experience in Agile methodology
  • Ability to work cross culturally on a global team
  • Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to perform at a high-level in a remote work environment
