The Position:

We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help develop our data pipeline frameworks, improve our modern data platform, and support the teams that rely on it. You'll build pipelines and you'll be relied on for your expertise in coding, design, and architecture to identify the right solution. You will report to the Data Engineering Manager on the Data Engineering Team, which is focused on delivering high-quality data and tooling on a reliable and scalable platform for analytics. Your core stakeholders will be other engineers as you build out tools and systems that will make it easier to move data securely and reliably.

What You'll Do:

  • Your primary responsibility will be to build. You'll be developing and maintaining scalable and efficient data platforms serving analytics needs across the organization.

  • You'll look for opportunities to improve existing systems' performance, observability, reliability, and scalability. Identify new infrastructure and software patterns to elevate systems for the next magnitude of scale.

  • Collaborate with data producers and consumers across the organization to improve efficiency for their work.

  • Ensure system security and data privacy compliance.

  • Share your knowledge through design docs, technical documentation, code reviews, and mentoring.

Who You Are:

  • You consider yourself a specialized software engineer and follow SE best practices. You're well versed in OOP principles and know how and when to apply them to data engineering.

  • 5+ years of software development experience as a data or backend engineer.

  • Expertise in Python and SQL for processing data.

  • Experience in Airflow, Docker, Kafka, AWS, Terraform, Snowflake, or Git version control / GHA cicd.

  • Experience creating detailed technical design documents.

  • Motivated to help others learn and improve themselves as engineers.

The target salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $200,000. This is part of a total compensation package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We constantly review all teammate pay to ensure a great compensation package that is fair and equal across the board.
