The Data Insight Team is focused on developing tools for large-scale data analysis to identify issues in the stack and compare autonomous performance with human performance. This aims to discover new opportunities for improvement and ODD expansion. You will work closely with Motion Planning, Metrics Engine, and Data Platform teams to establish pipelines and metrics to measure performance. The team builds tools for large-scale data analysis while working directly with consumers, formulating projects to enhance component performance. The team owns the novel Automated Scene Insight tool and is expanding it's scope of influence across Planning, Controls, Perception, and Prediction.
What you'll be doing:
- Setting up tools (in python) to fetch data from S3 to further process and analyze data at scale
- Building complex software systems and collaborating with cross-functional machine learning and robotics teams to influence design for scalability, testability, flexibility and cost efficiency
- Building tools for on-road performance analysis, and autonomy regression detection and prevention
- Working with motivated teammates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
What we're looking for:
- Strong Python skills and practices
- Good understanding of SQL
- 5+ years of experience developing large applications for data processing
- Strong software design skills with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong sense of ownership: Being able to drive projects from conception to production
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related field
