PayZen is seeking a savvy Senior Data Engineer, based in the United States, for hybrid office work in San Francisco, California, to develop and oversee scalable FinTech software solutions. You’ll be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. 

What you will do

  • Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to build groundbreaking user-centric products that change people’s lives.
  • Develop an infrastructure to collect, transform, combine, and publish/distribute data.
  • Expand and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture, ensuring efficient data flow and collection for cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure data and results are accessible, scalable, efficient, accurate, and complete.
  • Construct a framework utilizing data visualization tools and techniques to present consolidated analytical and actionable results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop automated data quality checks to ensure the right data enters the platform and verify the accuracy of calculations.

What you will bring

  • 6+ years of experience working in SQL.
  • 6+ years of experience programming in one of the following - Python, Java, Scala.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, specifically AWS to build and optimize scalable data solutions.
  • Experience designing, building, and managing data pipelines and workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, UC4-Automic, Luigi, Talend, or similar.
  • Proficiency with big data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases, and Kafka to support scalable data processing and real-time analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with BI tools such as Amazon QuickSight, Sigma, Tableau, or equivalent to drive data insights and visualization.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
