Senior Data Center Technician

This position is located near Ashburn, VA and will support 4 data centers in that area.
The Senior Data Center Technician will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of data center infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and storage systems.

In this role you will:

Perform routine maintenance and inspections of data center hardware, including servers, storage devices, and networking equipment

Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware issues, coordinating with vendors for repairs or replacements as needed

Deploy, install, configure, and maintain server and network hardware

Monitor server performance and take proactive measures to optimize performance and prevent downtime

Implement and enforce security protocols to safeguard data center assets and prevent unauthorized access

Maintain and document detailed records of equipment inventory, maintenance activities, and system configurations

Follow disaster recovery plans to minimize data center downtime
We’re looking for someone with:

Technical certifications or a related degree
-
Proficiency in data center hardware, networking, and server technologies

Strong understanding of cabling standards, patch panel design, and connections

Strong familiarity with Linux operating systems and server virtualization technologies

Competence in data center management tools and software
-
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to interact with various Engineering teams

Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 operational environment

Ability to lift 50 lbs

Ability to climb and work on a ladder or lift

Ability to travel within the US and Internationally when needed

In Virginia, the base salary range for this position is: $95,000 - $105,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).
