Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
Atlassian is looking for a Senior Editorial Writer with exceptional writing skills to join our US team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating a calendar of ideas and content to support our marketing and communications initiatives. You'll have experience working across writing styles and content types, and be as comfortable spinning up a social post as you are developing an exec keynote or long form report. A background working to deadlines in a fast-paced communications team is a must, as is a proven track record supporting and writing for executives.
If you love writing, hate jargon, and want to work alongside a great team, we'd love to hear from you. This is an individual contributor position, reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications. This role can be remote from anywhere in the US.
Responsibilities
- Work across communications and marketing teams to understand priorities and generate compelling angles for storytelling and thought leadership
- Support leaders with content for external appearances, including bylines, fireside chats & keynotes
- Write thought-provoking, engaging material that our audiences want to read, watch, listen to and engage with
- Take the lead in writing and content needs across the communications team, whether a quick-turn blog post, talking points for an interview or a report for our latest research
- Build and manage social media strategy for executives, maintaining a calendar of social posts
- Build relationships with teams across the company to source ideas
- Measure results and adjust approaches accordingly
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in communications (with a strong focus on writing) and/or journalism
- A background in technology, including experience working with executives
- A proven track record generating ideas and crafting material that resonates with audiences in all its forms
- Exemplary written skills, including the ability to quickly translate complex, technical detail into succinct, easy-to-digest communications
- Experience working collaboratively and partnering across a highly distributed organization
- A how-can-I-help, get-it-done demeanor
