Senior Backend Engineer/Research Engineer (Labs)

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced backend developer to help drive and evolve our product, focusing on high-impact innovation projects as part of our Labs team. You will be working on cutting-edge technology and ideas and building prototypes of breakthrough products and features with a substantial impact on the product and the company. You will be solving multiple exciting technical challenges!
Please Note: Candidates must be located in Bay Area (Hybrid)
What you’ll do

You’ll be building prototypes (both standalone and as part of our product) with a world-class applied research team focusing on cutting-edge AI/ML and related technologies — including LLMs and various domain-specific neural networks.

You'll work with a large-scale, highly scalable, and fault-tolerant system that handles large graph datasets at enterprise scale in realtime. Instances of our product are processing billions of events from tens of thousands of endpoints in real-time with subsecond latency requirements.

You get to work with a modern and constantly evolving microservices-based software stack which includes:

Go, Kubernetes, Bigquery, etc. on the backend

Typescript, React, MUI, etc. on the frontend

Python, Pytorch, Huggingface libraries in the ML stack

Who you are

You love innovation and have an entrepreneurial mindset, eager to solve challenging real-world problems with breakthrough technology

You have a strong track record in building backend applications that are actively used at scale

You have experience developing large applications in Go or Python
-
You have hands-on experience with microservices and Kubernetes (both development and DevOps)

Experience with agile development and SCRUM

You have some experience or willingness to quickly learn basic frontend development
-
You have some experience or willingness to quickly AI/ML technologies

Compensation Range: $180 - $240k
Please note that ranges showed encompass the entire US market, from higher rate cities like NYC, Bay Area and Seattle, to all the US Metro Area.
