Make Your Mark:
The Strategy & Corporate Development team collaborates closely with BlackLine's Executive Team to shape the company's strategic direction, focusing on key investments, new business opportunities, and strategic M&A transactions. This small, agile team enjoys high visibility within the company and with the Board of Directors, taking direct ownership and accountability for critical topics.
You'll Get To:

  • Corporate Strategy: Actively participating in key corporate strategy processes, working with senior executives to identify and assess growth opportunities, including evaluating market potential and competitive dynamics, developing recommendations, and execution plans
  • Market and Competitive Research: Conducting detailed industry and market analysis to identify growth opportunities. This involves automating data gathering and synthesis for market sizing, competitive analysis, and identifying trends
  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Assisting in all aspects of potential M&A transactions, including strategy formation, developing business cases, deal execution, and integration
  • Executive Communications: Drafting cover letters, updating the Executive Committee on competitive developments, and crafting outreach for potential partnerships and M&A activities
  • Program Management: Supporting the team in program managing corporate initiatives and building management-ready PowerPoints and other collateral to communicate project deliverables
  • Board Presentations: Assisting with initial outlines and story flow, drafting executive summaries and next steps, refining content from stakeholders to improve clarity, enhancing writing, and suggesting impactful slide titles and taglines

We're Even More Excited If You Have:
Years of Experience in Related Field: 3-5 years
Education: Bachelor's degree required with proven history of high achievement
Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Over 3 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, and/or strategy/corporate development
  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct detailed industry and market research, assess competitive dynamics, and evaluate growth opportunities
  • Financial Modelling: Strong financial modelling skills for developing business cases and assessing potential transactions
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting executive summaries, updating the Executive Committee, and crafting outreach for potential partnerships and M&A activities
  • Presentation Development: Exceptional PowerPoint and strong story telling skills including developing story flow, refining content from stakeholders, and suggesting impactful slide titles and taglines
  • Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative "team player" with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across functional teams
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous and thorough in completing tasks to ensure that all aspects of a project are carefully considered and executed to high-quality standards
  • Self-starter: Proactive, motivated, and capable of managing time and tasks effectively.
  • Experience in M&A: Prior experience in mergers and acquisitions is a plus

Salary Range:
USD $111,000.00 - USD $138,000.00
Pay Transparency Statement:
Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
