Mill is all about answering a simple question: how can we prevent waste? Less waste can save time, money, energy, maybe even our planet. And there’s no better place to start than food. Food waste is one of the most solvable climate problems facing us today. Plus, our trash really stinks. It’s gross, heavy, and our least favorite chore. At Mill we are striving to build a better environment for all, as we take on climate and kitchen change.

Role Overview:
Mill’s Analytics team is seeking a strategic and versatile analyst to help drive growth, unlock efficiencies, and deliver actionable recommendations to the business. In this role, you’ll use your analytical expertise and business acumen to solve complex problems and drive data-backed decision-making across the organization. You’ll have the opportunity to work on high-impact projects, collaborating with stakeholders across various functions, including Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, and Business to hit targets and navigate critical business challenges. Mill is looking for someone who is eager to use and develop their technical chops, build lasting systems and processes, and apply analytical rigor and business sense to ambiguous problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting & Modeling: Build and maintain operational and financial models to support forecasting, supply/demand planning, and scenario analysis.
  • KPI Development & Reporting: Define business metrics, set targets, establish dashboards to monitor performance, and provide regular business updates.
  • Strategic Decision Support: Partner with teams to analyze business problems, evaluate trade-offs, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct in-depth analyses to uncover trends, opportunities, and risks, presenting findings to leadership.
  • Building Systems: Create lasting, scalable systems rather than simply one-off analyses – data infrastructure, business and team processes, reporting, analytical frameworks – leaving teams and data better off than you found them.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of analytical experience in a high-performance environment such as management consulting, investment banking, or a fast-growing startup.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and approach problems with a business-first mindset.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills; experience with SQL and Tableau is a plus.
  • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and unit economic analysis is a plus.
  • Growth, go-to-market, or marketing analytics experience is a plus.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A proactive and resourceful attitude, able to thrive in ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn, grow, and be challenged.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into actionable insights.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic environment and wearing multiple hats.
  • High level of collaboration, eager to coordinate and act as a glue across teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • A passion for sustainability and the mission of addressing climate change is a plus.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $80k to $152k, which does not include the value of benefits or a potential equity grant. A wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, market conditions, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and business and organizational needs. At Mill, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
