The Position
The Senior Accountant will support financial reporting and accounting operations including month-end close reconciliations, journal entry preparation, financial analysis, and treasury functions. This role reports into the Controller. This role is hybrid and based out of our Walnut Creek office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ownership of corporate credit card and expense reimbursement program to ensure compliance with company policies

Monitor cash balances and make certain cash transactions are posted timely and accurately

Perform balance sheet reconciliations (credit card, prepaid expenses, A/R, unbilled A/R, deferred revenue, etc.)

Maintain fixed asset and intangible asset schedules

Reconcile Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts

Review client invoicing and revenue against contracts to ensure billing is done correctly and in compliance with ASC 606

Monthly review of expenses and revenues for accuracy

Assist with month-end close, including preparation of journal entries

Assist with financial statement preparation and analysis

File all business licenses, 1099s, and property tax returns as required by city, state, county, and federal law

Assist with annual financial audit and tax return filings

Performing other duties as assigned
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
-
Three to five years of corporate accounting experience required, ideally in a multi-entity professional services organization with minimum of $25M in revenue

Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including ASC 606 and ASC 842
-
Advanced Excel skills (i.e., VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, PIVOTS, etc.)

Proficient in NetSuite (ideally have implemented NetSuite at a prior organization)

Strong ability to multitask and handle competing priorities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills both oral and written

Must be able to creatively figure out solutions with minimal supervision

Must be well-organized, detailed, concise, and flexible
