PMA is seeking a Senior Scheduler for construction infrastructure projects on large capital improvement programs. The successful candidate will coordinate project schedule preparation based on defined project execution philosophies; perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance; evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule; perform time impact analysis on schedule fragments; participate in change order negotiations and perform critical path and earned value analyses. Other skills include identifying schedule-related problems that arise during project execution and recommending corrective actions and creative solutions; conducting construction/project site visits for progress reporting; reviewing contractor weekly and monthly schedule progress; preparing a narrative of findings and submitting and presenting to management for decision making; reviewing and evaluating contractor recovery schedules; performing cost analysis in support of design and construction phases of capital projects; analyzing actual expenditures versus budget performance; and preparing cost-loaded schedules to support comprehensive cash flow projections.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum 5 plus years of experience in project or program schedule on large capital improvement programs required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field required. Additional qualifying experience in excess of the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education.
- Advanced experience in software, including, but not limited to, Primavera P6andMS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required.
- Understanding the theories, principles, and practices of cost engineering and scheduling required.
- Experience with water/wastewater treatment construction projects preferred.
- Skilled in communicating effectively orally and in writing required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
