Role Summary

This role is responsible for the end-to-end ownership and maintenance of all aspects of Cigna's Performance for New Business Operations and its processes. Provides operational support to US Commercial’s U500 segment leadership team, new business sales management, client service in support of the Operation Analyst roles. The end-to-end ownership will include process development and enhancements, ensuring the quality and accuracy of metrics associated with new business execution. This individual will also be responsible for working closely with training and technical support so that analyst’s needs are being met to execute the ‘In Good Order’ sold new business process. They will harness their expertise along with a strong business acumen to develop tools that help our business partners. This role will collaborate with all areas of the Sales, Sales Operations and Sales Effectiveness to identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance client satisfaction and ensure the successful implementation of new clients.

  • This position will have a regional alignment and partner on segment-level initiatives related to new business processing, collaborating with their direct managers/supervisors, Market Sales Leadership, New Business Managers, Underwriting, and Implementation to define and refine processes and strategy
  • Assist with load balancing book of business for markets and/or team members with high volume
  • Process end-to-end new business cases especially complex cases within all funding options
  • Coordinate and deliver reporting
  • Partner with Tech Coaches, Trainers, Auditors & Compliance to ensure guidelines and process changes are infused in day-to-day processes
  • Serve as primary subject matter expert and support of team training:  enhance, maintain and facilitate the standard operating procedures related to new business sales
  • Interview/coordinates new hires and/or contingent staff based on business production needs
  • Collaborate with Senior Analysts and leadership in creating and facilitating work assignment plans across markets, while monitoring performance metrics, goals and service improvement plans
  • Provide support to Client and Growth leadership on all issues and initiatives
  • Influence matrix partners to drive consistency and best practices with the local market and across markets and segments.
  • Serve as a business resource to lead and complete Client and Growth Services projects
  • Demonstrate the ability to be proactive, anticipate needs of the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Associates degree in a related field preferred or at least 3/5 years of related experience.
  • Previous Sales Operations Services, procedures, compliance experience strongly preferred
  • Technical understanding of insurance industry, broker experience, SFDC, HMO, PPO, POS, funding, contract and underwriting/rating knowledge strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working with matrix partners and external customers is preferred
  • Previous experience working on a project team or as a business resource support for projects and initiatives preferred
  • Strong Organizational, Communication and Critical Thinking skills preferred

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 71,600 - 119,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
