The power of prediction starts with HumanSignal. We build software that helps people do what only they can do – give meaning

Data fills our modern world. It flows prolifically inside organizations, customer interactions, through product usage, environmental research, healthcare imaging, and beyond. What if we could use any of that historical data to predict the future? The fact is, in most cases we can make predictions through Machine Learning and AI, but to do so in a meaningful and impactful way, historical data needs to be accurate, comprehensive, and absent of bias.

In order to make the best predictions, we believe internal teams with domain expertise should be responsible for annotating and curating data. It's called data labeling, and it’s a process of real people giving meaning to the information they see on the screen. HumanSignal was founded to take data labeling to the next level.

We believe that data labeling is a team sport. Data scientists, subject matter experts, engineers, operations, and annotators must work collaboratively to ensure quality results and an efficient process. That’s why we created Label Studio, which has quickly become the most popular open source data labeling platform with a 250K+ users around the world and millions of labeled samples, alongside a community of thousands of data scientists sharing knowledge and working to advance data-centric AI.

In late spring 2022, HumanSignal raised $25 million in Series A funding, bringing our total funds raised to $30 million from notable investment partners Redpoint Ventures, Unusual Ventures, Bow Capital, Swift Ventures, as well as angel investors.

HumanSignal is a fully distributed organization with people all over the world. We have team members in North America, Europe, and South America across 6 countries.

About the Opportunity:

As a User Success Manager at HumanSignal, you'll focus on three key missions. First, you'll guide users through their Label Studio journey by understanding their needs and offering the right resources. Second, you'll partner with the Sales Team, using user insights to drive revenue and uncover new business opportunities. Third, you'll develop valuable skills that support your career growth in Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, or other Go-to-Market roles. By fulfilling these missions, you'll contribute to both HumanSignal’s success and your own career.

Our success is closely tied to our open-source DNA and users' success with our software. We're looking for team members who can leverage this connection to support long-term growth.

In this role, you'll balance reactive and proactive work—responding to inbound inquiries and reaching out to users. A research-driven mindset is key for crafting thoughtful, value-add messaging, and confidence in driving business conversations is essential.

This is a demanding, fast-paced role. While the company is growing, there's still much to build. We seek driven, humble, and technically curious individuals with a team-first attitude and ownership. Whether you're early in your career or transitioning into tech, this team offers a great opportunity to learn and grow with a supportive team who care about your success.

 What You'll Bring:

  • 0-2 years prior SDR experience, preferably in a startup capacity or “Lead” role at your previous organization
  • Open to feedback and coaching, always looking for ways to improve
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication style
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize many tasks and demands
  • Resourceful and proactive in an environment that is constantly evolving
  • Driven by purpose and by winning with a team-first attitude
  • Ability to work well independently and with others in a remote environment

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain knowledge of our technology, competitors, open source ecosystem, and industry trends
  • Follow up on inbound leads effectively and efficiently
  • Use a multi-channel approach (email, social, calling) to proactively outreach to new leads
  • Use Salesforce, Outreach.io and other GTM tools for lead and account management and research
  • Use research and data to prioritize and customize outreach to target prospects and accounts via email and LinkedIn
  • Drive effective discovery conversations to understand users’ needs and goals in to provide them the appropriate resources and communicate how Label Studio can help them
  • Consistently meet new business opportunity and pipeline targets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing and sales to win as a team

 Interview Advice:

Let’s be honest - interviewing is not easy. However, we want you to come prepared and succeed. When we interview, we’re trying to determine a couple of things:

  • Would you be successful if you were part of our team?
  • Will you love working here and be a positive influence on your fellow colleagues?
  • Will you grow professionally and personally during your time here?

We’re looking for people who are curious and passionate about technology, so make sure you invest some time in learning about HumanSignal. Explore our community, the industry we operate in, what we offer, and how we set ourselves apart.

During your interview, you’ll be sharing stories about your current and past roles and experiences. The best way to frame this is with the CARR model: Context, Action, Results, Reflection. This allows you to succinctly share the experiences you’ve gained.

Remember, humility drives learning and we love working with people who are always trying to better themselves. Throughout our interview process, you will receive feedback, and usually directly in the interview. As you move through the interview process, make sure you listen to the feedback you receive and figure out how to incorporate the advice in the next step of the interview.
