Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Software Release Engineer to join our IT Delivery team, located throughout the United States. As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable the release pipeline and delivery IT services globally. If you're a motivated and detail-oriented leader with a passion for software release management, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Software Release Engineer, you'll be responsible for implementing and orchestrating a software release management service that ensures the timely and high-quality delivery of multiple software products. You'll work closely with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to foster open communication and collaboration. Additionally, you'll be expected to have deep understanding of IT service management principles within the release pipeline including Change Enablement and Deployment Management.
Develop and maintain a robust release process

  • Establish a formalized, documented, consistent, repeatable, and measurable software release management process that is aligned with the company's overall product roadmaps and business objectives
  • Implement release management process and train individuals across various departments and teams with different SDLC methodologies.

Create, manage and maintain release documentation:

  • Create release documentation common standards and formats, such as release notes, user guides, playbooks, other technical documentation and training.
  • Create and manage the company's IT Release Calendar in alignment to the organization's priorities while collaborating with release managers and portfolio owners.

Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams:

  • Foster open communications and collaboration with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to ensure successful delivery of complex software implementations and changes
  • Provide coaching and serves as a subject matter expert on configuration management and software development methodologies, as well as release management.

Monitor and analyze release metrices:

  • Maintain and manage an overview of all an enterprise's application releases through monitoring.
  • Analyze and report on release metrics, including success rates, customer satisfaction, and defect rates, to inform process improvements and optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including those related to cybersecurity and data protection throughout the release process.

Develop strategy to identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases, including standardizing release decision-making.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance release efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging best practices and industry standards
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
5+ years of experience in software release engineering with a strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git and SVN), and continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements, including those related to cybersecurity and data protection, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CUI
  • Experience with enterprise release management and software release management
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks, and experience with release management tools

  • Masters in Related Field

  • DevOps Professional (CDP)
  • Certified Agile Practitioner (CAPM)
  • Certified Release Manager (CRM)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Cloud Professional (CCP)
  • Certified IT Service Manager (CITSM)


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $94728 - $161038
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
