As a Structural Project Engineer in the Protective Design Group, you will play a critical role in the design and analysis of projects for federal and local government, infrastructure, and private clients. These projects emphasize blast engineering, physical security design, progressive collapse prevention, and hostile vehicle mitigation.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform advanced structural analysis, including non-linear dynamic methods.
  • Design solutions for high-risk projects to mitigate the effects of physical threats.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, contractors, project managers, and security consultants.
  • Provide innovative protective design consulting for a variety of challenging project types.
  • Develop creative, practical, and effective solutions to unique client challenges.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master of Science (MS) Degree in Structural Engineering (or related field).
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in structural/blast engineering.
    • Candidates with specialized seismic engineering or consulting experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Advanced structural modeling and high-fidelity modeling techniques.
    • Experience in blast engineering, disproportionate collapse modeling, and protective design.
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Creative and client-focused, with demonstrated consulting experience.
  • Attributes:
    • Self-motivated and proactive in contributing to project success.
    • A team player who thrives in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments.
