The Motional Technical Program Management team is seeking to hire an experienced TPM to develop and support advanced compute capabilities as we prepare to launch driverless robotaxis on public roads. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional partners across Hardware, Software, Procurement, and Partnerships to define SOC/NPU requirements, drive technical direction and program execution for our next generation Compute system, and outline a technology roadmap for L4 chipsets in future products. This role is a high-visibility position and will require the ability to operate at a 40,000-foot program level as well as diving into the technical areas related to Compute hardware and software. What You'll Do

  • Manage Compute systems strategy and execution for our next generation AV System 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Procurement, and Partnerships teams to define SOC/NPU/Overall Compute requirements and deliverables that meet our current product goals
  • Set priorities and coordinate between internal engineering teams and external stakeholders to support chip development from concept through launch
  • Manage day-to-day program execution, tracking progress and metrics, removing blockers and inefficiencies as required, and driving hardware and software work streams to meet system integration milestones
  • Identify risks and mitigations, working with technical and cross-functional team members to develop actions plans and escalate and track issues proactively until closure
  • Communicate to executive leadership in regular forums and provide technical and program level analyses and recommendations in a clear and concise way that captures impact
  • Lead forward-looking technical evaluations with Engineering teams to deliver a chipset roadmap for future programs

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary technical programs with competing priorities (cost, schedule, feasibility) with broad cross-functional teams
  • Experience in new product development (autonomous vehicles, consumer electronics, and/or robotics) and manufacturing, and a strong understanding of hardware and software development life-cycles
  • Experience with embedded software, chip/silicon development and validation processes, and system-level integration/FATP (final assembly test and packaging) processes 
  • Vendor management experience (software and hardware)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – must have experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences and communicating at executive level
  • A passion for learning new concepts and adaptive problem solving in dynamic environments
  • Leadership skills (assertiveness, taking ownership, driving accountability) and a sense of urgency
  • A degree in Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to travel when needed
  • Ability to work out of a Motional office on a weekly basis

$199,200$266,700 USD
