Position Summary
This key leadership role focuses on identifying and penetrating new opportunities for our specialty niche services and on developing ongoing client relationships. With a demonstrated ability to successfully execute projects, the successful candidate will focus on furthering a career by leading a team of project controls consultants working on multiple mid-size projects in a portfolio. Capitalizing on the company’s reputation for project execution excellence, the successful applicant will target work in one of our aligned market sectors. Remote role with monthly site visits required.
In this role, the successful candidate will:
- Manage the project controls team including schedulers, cost manager, and quantity surveyors.
- Provide project controls management, including baseline schedule development and management, performance status and reporting, baseline change control, risk management, earned value management, and tools.
- Lead the project team in the development of the project controls processes for estimating, cost collection, cost assurance, forecasting, progress measurement, scheduling, and reporting.
- Support the development of integrated master level 4/5 schedules in Primavera P6 that reflect all interface milestones and activity durations from multiple contractors’ schedules and feed changes to the integrated master schedule.
- Ensure the project controls team produce weekly/monthly reports in line with the project and company reporting calendar, providing details on progress, actuals, forecast, and explanation of variances, and sharing lessons and best practice within the project controls community.
- Manage stakeholders by building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Integrate with the project team and take firm control of project controls, leading from the front. Must be able to define a plan and uphold accountability.
- Provide clear definitions, define and prioritize objectives, analyze inputs, assess, and challenge data, define strategies, and support rationales.
- Facilitate workshops to solve critical problems and provide clear direction to team members on the actions needed to manage and mitigate any critical issues.
- Identify multifaceted problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Manage and coordinate the change management process, ensuring impacts to the baseline are effectively assessed and managed.
- Manage the assurance of project controls data and ensure adherence with standards and processes established by the client.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project/ construction management, or a related field required.
- 15+ years’ experience in project controls, project management, or a similar role required.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in project management methodologies and schedule/cost control tools and software required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment required.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities required.

Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
