As a Product Owner in our I Buy I Sell Consumers Portfolio, you will lead a dynamic product team dedicated to transforming the digital experience. You will leverage consumer data and conduct experiments aimed at minimizing friction in the buying process. As a key member of our Agile team, the Product Owner embodies the voice of both the customer and the organization, driving business value through strategic delivery. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including leadership, to define and prioritize features that align with customer needs and organizational goals. Your in-depth understanding of customer challenges will guide the team in clearly defining and prioritizing the most valuable work. You'll maintain continuous communication with stakeholders to ensure a shared vision of how the team can maximize value for customers. Additionally, you will work across squads, technologies, and architecture to deepen your understanding of the systems we support. Collaborates to create product vision and alignment with strategic priorities with stakeholders. Contributes to the development of the portfolio vision. Communicates product and portfolio vision to their squad/team and other squads/teams outside their portfolio/functional area.
Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and communicate the product and portfolio vision across teams.
  • Work closely with your squad/team to develop and achieve product-level KPIs while managing products of moderate strategy and complexity.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring clear and actionable user stories.
  • Set priorities during squad/team quarterly planning and collaborate with senior Product Owners for portfolio alignment.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding the delivery of new features and participate actively in team ceremonies.
  • Engage daily with the Agile working group to clarify business requirements, remove roadblocks, and ensure alignment on product strategy.
  • Partner with IT and business leadership to align development goals while swiftly resolving issues.
  • Monitor product health to ensure long-term viability and efficiency, balancing both immediate and future costs.
  • Analyze feasibility and impact of changes, navigating regulatory and compliance constraints effectively.
  • Build and contribute to the squad/team product roadmap, influencing stakeholder expectations for new capabilities.
  • Communicate the expected value delivered in each iteration based on team capacity.
  • Lead customer-driven design and usability testing, ensuring a market-ready product through thorough analysis.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc.) and a minimum of 3 to 5 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 7 years in business, technology, or consulting.
  • Able to depict and explain the importance of complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on business vision and plan and the impact of change.
  • Able to influence a diverse group of stakeholders; strong leadership skills.
  • Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily.
  • Strong problem solver with demonstrated ability to lead a team to push the solutions and progress.
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred.
  • Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty.
