About Middesk:

Middesk makes it easier for businesses to work together. Since 2018, we’ve been transforming business identity verification, replacing slow, manual processes with seamless access to complete, up-to-date data. Our platform helps companies across industries confidently verify business identities, onboard customers faster, and reduce risk at every stage of the customer lifecycle.

Middesk came out of Y Combinator, is backed by Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, and was recently named to Forbes Fintech 50 List and cited as an industry leader in business verification by digital identity strategy firm, Liminal.

 The Role:

Middesk has seen rapid, exponential growth over the past few years, driven by strong product-market fit, word-of-mouth, and an exceptional reputation for delivering products that customers love.

As our customer and partner base has grown more diverse, the demand for new products, features, and capabilities has increased. We’re looking for someone who can help us prioritize the highest-impact projects to maximize customer value and drive our next phase of growth.

If you’re excited about the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on a fast-growing product and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we’d love to connect.

We follow a hybrid work model, and for this role, there is an expectation of 2 days per week in our SF or NYC office. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance, as we believe in the value of in-person collaboration and building strong team connections while also supporting flexibility where possible.

What You'll Do:

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for new features, performance optimizations, and data capabilities.

  • Understand customers' needs, product capabilities, and business goals to help the team identify and prioritize high-value projects.

  • Define and analyze key metrics to inform decision-making and measure success.

  • Build the capability and culture for high-velocity delivery.

  • Be a part of the team that redefines how banks and fintechs verify customers, changing the compliance and fraud industry.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to work effectively with and lead cross-functional teams, including Design, Product, Engineering, Sales, Data Science, Marketing, and Operations.

  • Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Track record of delivering meaningful impact through the entire product lifecycle— from ideation and launch to ongoing iteration.

  • Sales-Led and Product-Led Experience: Comfortable navigating both sales-driven and product-driven growth models.

  • Data Products and APIs: Experience building and scaling data products and APIs.

  • Compliance and Fraud Expertise: Deep understanding of compliance and fraud-related challenges and solutions.

  • Fintech Experience: Background in financial services or fintech, with a strong grasp of industry dynamics.

  • Early-Stage, High-Growth Startup: Experience working in an early-stage, fast-paced startup environment, driving growth and scaling products.

  • Analytical Decision-Making: Strong product sense with a customer-first mindset. You understand customer journeys deeply and use both qualitative insights and metrics to drive product improvements.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively evangelize your product area and advocate for customer needs.

  • Bias Toward Action: Thrive in ambiguity, take ownership of complex problems, and drive solutions with urgency and focus.
