The summary above was generated by AI

Discord is used by over 200 million people every month for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does on our platform: play video games. Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.

We’re looking for a product manager to join our Unified Developer Platform team to build systems and features that enhance player experiences on Discord. This product manager will work closely with engineers, designers, data scientists, and other functions to create experiences that enable game developers to better engage their players on Discord.

What you'll be doing:

  • Guide the product philosophy, and roadmap for features and systems that allow players to engage with game experiences on Discord. These features might include game-related DMs & notifications, player profile & stats, leaderboards, and bots.
  • Prioritize and balance the needs of consumers and developers by delivering unique platform capabilities to drive reach, retention, engagement and revenue without detracting from the core user experience.
  • Work with our other product and engineering groups to create a connected vision that amplifies game developer products on Discord.
  • Partner with other product teams across Discord, such as Apps, Revenue and more.
  • Empathize with different player personas and use-cases, and think player-first.

What you should have:

  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping great consumer software, ideally as a product manager, driving prioritization, trade-offs, and timelines.
  • Experience and understanding of gaming and player engagement, especially on Discord.
  • Proven track record of achieving impact through solving challenging consumer/player problems with innovative solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, excited about finding solutions to complex problems, and then executing on them.
  • Proven ability to analyze and synthesize data.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and effectiveness working closely with engineers. Programming background is a plus.
  • Strong product sense and pride in understanding your customers, both developers and players.
