We are now looking for an outstanding Principal Solutions Architect to join our team. The role’s primary responsibility is to collaborate with customers in architecting the next generation of supercomputers and machine learning systems enabled by Lightmatter’s photonic interconnect technology Passage.
In this role, you will work closely with Tier 1 Semiconductor companies and Cloud Service Provider organizations that are defining the next generation of scale-out, HPC, and machine learning systems. You will work cross-functionally within Lightmatter as you define an optimal technical solution. Additionally, you will be collaborating with customers who are experts in silicon photonics, and integrated optics. You should be comfortable supporting deep technical discussions on silicon photonics design, optical transceivers, cable/fiber management, and lasers. We are looking for a professional with excellent interpersonal skills and an outstanding communicator who can effectively interface with management and engineering teams. Our new team member must be able to work independently, which is essential to success in the role.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Lightmatter sales leaders to develop strong relationships with key technical stakeholders, and help them optimize their system architecture by taking advantage of Lightmatter’s interconnect technology
- Act as the primary technical interface and domain expert with customers in Lightmatter’s Silicon Photonics and Laser Technology
- Develop and deliver technical proposals to customers, based on customer’s technical requirements and system architecture
- Work as the field expert in silicon photonics, to provide in-depth training and guidance of the photonic architecture/design to the FAE team, to create and share the related technical articles and reference designs
- Define new and refine existing ideas and design concepts that address scaling HPC and ML system architectures using Lightmatter’s highly disruptive interconnect technology Passage
- Explains advanced silicon photonics and laser technology concepts and understands how those concepts relate to other disciplines.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
- 12+ years of work-related experience in a system design or technical customer support role in a high-tech electronics industry.
- In-depth knowledge of photonic devices and semiconductor physics
- Customer-facing skill-set and background, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing effectively in a dynamic work setting, with experience using project management tools
- Minimum of 5 years experience working collaboratively in team-based environments, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Experience working in customer-facing roles, acting as the domain expert for silicon photonics/optics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying or supporting customers who are deploying optics in a data center environment at scale
- In-depth knowledge of semiconductor gain, and laser technology
- Action-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong time-management and organization skills for coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives
We offer competitive compensation. On target earnings range is listed below. The final compensation will be determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
