The role
As the Principal Product Operations Manager, you will be the primary interface to the core product development team and other functional organizations within SoFi. As the founding member of the Product Operations function, you will establish and improve critical product management processes, frameworks and tools. Product Ops provides leverage to the Head of Product by owning and refining the how we track and understand all member friction, leading product related operations, driving coordination of the roadmap and ensuring we ship impactful and compliant products to our customers. This broadly impactful and highly visible role will require you to collaborate across organizational boundaries with cross-functional leaders in engineering, product, design, business, risk, operations, privacy, legal, and other critical functions to drive the strategy and execution of Member BU initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Lead quarterly and annual planning for the all customer pain-points, partnering closely with leaders (specifically business operations leads and chiefs of staff) across teams to coordinate materials, help align initiatives, and connect dots across teams to make us more efficient.
  • Ensure cross-functional partners are aligned on key objectives for the program/product
  • Drive continuous improvement to the engagement models between product, engineering and business stakeholders teams
  • Track core business metrics related to the customer pain-points
  • Surface and advocate for key insights from the business to advise product improvements
  • Refining the product development process to ensure we ship innovative, impactful and compliant products
  • Build a centralized source of truth for cross-functional stakeholders to track the product friction roadmaps
  • Generally serve as the "strategic advisor" for the BU given intimate knowledge of our business and how they fit into the overall organization, standing in for the GBUL as needed to represent the Member BU


What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 8+ years of experience in operations, business consulting, program management, business or strategy operations
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale, enterprise-level programs successfully
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and executive leadership through clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Logical, structured, and data-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly present information to an executive audience
  • Strong sense of ownership and bias for action
  • Ability to partner effectively across levels and functions
  • A proven track record of executing cross-functional work requiring coordination across multiple stakeholders


Nice to have:

  • B2C or Consumer Facing Tech or Fintech experience: Deep understanding of the user experience
  • Product Development: Experience with the product development lifecycle.
