About Role


Deputy is a product-led organisation with an amazing growth track record. Now poised for our next phase of growth, we are hiring a critical new Product Manager who will be visible across the whole business and be able to make a significant impact on the success of Deputy. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the roadmap and execution for our Payroll product. You will work closely with your design and engineering team to build the product, with legal and compliance to understand our regulatory requirements, and with other experts to ensure that we build and operate the best and most efficient payroll system in the world. You’ll work with sales, implementation, and support to launch the product and continuously improve it.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap and execution for an entire product area within payroll
  • Understand in detail the legal, compliance, regulatory requirements, and operational payroll needs of our customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, customer and delivery services, legal, and compliance, to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Balance customer and user expectations (UX), engineering (tech) and commercial requirements at time competing priorities
  • The Product Manager is the CEO of their product and is responsible for the strategy, roadmap and feature definition, and for engaging and communicating with the organisation and customers about the product, product roadmap and vision
  • Lead a strong dedicated development squad to achieve success at new levels

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 8+ years of Product Management experience
  • Prior demonstrated experience of working on Payroll product in US
  • Good commercial experience in Product Management or relevant product experience
  • Well-rounded background across UX or Tech
  • Care and passion for their product, customer and the business
  • Smart and an analytical mind - be able to create meaningful insights from user data
  • Be curious, a great listener and communicator
  • Strong understanding of technology - its limitations and its efforts
  • SaaS experience preferred but not required

The pay range for this position takes into account multiple factors that are all considered to determine an individual candidate’s starting pay. These factors include but are not limited to: market factors, experience, technical and non-technical skills, education, certifications, and other business acumen. This range does not include any potential incentive programs, such as individual or organizational performance bonuses.
