Job Description:
What You'll Do
Under the direction of a Director, this role typically involves handling routine, standard legal matters by providing advice, direction and support to internal business clients on risk, compliance, risk and operations, governance, government relations matters. Provides legal advice, as applicable to role, on new initiatives, business processes, contract review and analysis, training, corrective actions, compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures, litigation risk and issues raised in governance committees. Typically, the role is that of an individual contributor, but in some circumstances, it may functionally lead work group(s) or small teams to deliver desired output in a direct or indirect manner. The incumbent typically implements and supports basic work routines and standards.
Key areas of focus for this roll include (1) specializing in supporting and autonomously advising internal clients in relation to network participant insolvency, bankruptcy, and counter-party risk management initiatives; (2) supporting operational issue management processes and projects; and (3) providing legal review, consultation and approvals for customer and network participant marketing and servicing communications across the US and globally.
How You'll Do It

  • Provides creative and proactive legal counsel to business partners on a variety of legal, business and policy topics, within area of specialty (e.g., Litigation, Regulatory/Advisory, Corporate Transactions, etc.), to enable effective and risk-aware business decision making.
  • Provides advice, counseling, and training on routine standard legal topics which may include one or more of the following coverage areas: Regulatory, Consumer Finance Advisory, Transactional, Anti-Trust, Privacy/Security, Technology, Employment/Benefits, Litigation, Collections, Public Company, Payments, and Intellectual Property


Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics

  • J.D. Law
  • 1+ years Legal experience supporting consumer financial services products and services, or job related
  • Active law license in good standing Upon Hire

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $91,000.00 to $153,400.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
