Designed with simplicity and scalability in mind, Verkada gives organizations the real-time insight to know what could impact the safety and comfort of people throughout their physical environment, while empowering them to take immediate action to minimize security risks, workplace frustrations and costly inefficiencies.

Founded in 2016, Verkada has expanded rapidly with 15 offices across three continents, 2,100+ full-time employees and 30,000+ customers across 70+ countries.

Overview

We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Manager/ Manager of People Strategy and Programs to join our growing People team. This role will partner with our Senior Director of People Strategy and Operations to develop and implement people-focused strategies, programs, and initiatives in support of Verkada’s organization strategies and incredible growth. You will play a critical role in shaping the employee experience, enabling leadership success, and ensuring executional excellence across our talent initiatives.

This is a unique opportunity to lead end-to-end initiatives—from ideation to launch - while helping to build a strong foundation for our People function.
Responsibilities

As a key member of the People Strategy & Operations team, you will:

  • Have an integral role in driving the insights, operations, and strategy.
  • Lead the end-to-end design and execution of key people programs, including stakeholder alignment, launch planning, communications, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with senior leaders and People Partners to ensure programs align with business priorities and effectively support the employee lifecycle.
  • Drive change management efforts—including written communications and live presentations—to support adoption across leadership and the broader organization.
  • Identify and implement improvements in current workflows and processes that can help improve efficiency and visibility - this might be in the current people systems or the future ones that we plan to implement.
  • Research and benchmark best practices across the industry to inform the design of innovative and scalable people programs.

Requirements

  • Since we’re still in scrappy startup mode, you must be a high-impact self-starter. You take initiative to move projects forward and can operate well with little guidance.
  • Raw Smarts: You’ve fine-tuned your first principle and conceptual problem-solving skills. You can look at complex problems and solve them from start to finish.
  • Strong analytical skills: You nerd out about data, can quickly structure analyses to answer key business questions to drive decision-making. Advanced Excel skills are a must.
  • Flexibility and hustle: You manage change and ambiguity well, and have no problems juggling multiple priorities while executing in a fast-paced environment. You’re comfortable pivoting quickly and often.
  • Process and operational thinking: You can tackle a problem independently and quickly iterate to a solution, then document it in a way that's easy to understand for all audiences.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional programs from design through delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership and crafting high-quality communications for broad audiences
  • Strong change management instincts; able to guide stakeholders through ambiguity and drive alignment across levels.
  • BA/BS degree. MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in consulting, corporate strategy, or a startup, with experience in talent management, strategic workplace planning, people analytics, and/or organizational design.
