About the Role:

As an Entrepreneurship Platform I&O team member, you will be a strategic partner to several senior product leadership leaders, playing a critical role in their success and the overall effectiveness of the Product team and some of the most critical product areas in our Entrepreneurship Platform. You will be responsible for streamlining operations, managing key initiatives, and fostering a smooth-running organization. The role supports

  • Money Group: Responsible for building financial products and services, members experiences, and employer based financial services designed to help small businesses get paid + access working lines of capital and empower individuals paid through our platform, offering them greater control, increased confidence, and more money from every hard-earned paycheck
  • Tax Credits: Mini startup within Gusto aimed to democratize access to credits and grants that unlock cashflow for small businesses and give them peace of mind needed to foster success.
  • Gusto Solo: The Gusto Solo team is building a brand new product that includes tools and repackaging features for early stage entrepreneurs. This involves repackaging existing features and developing and implementing new functionalities in legacy systems to better support our new customers.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Strategic and Operational Support: Provide high-level support to the App and Product leads with day-to-day operations, project management, and strategic planning.
  • Program Management: Own and manage a focused set of high-priority initiatives for the surfaces areas you support, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Design, and Marketing.
  • Communication and Content Creation: Craft clear and compelling communication materials for the team, including presentations, meeting agendas, and status updates.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across various departments (e.g., Engineering, Design, Marketing) to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment on product goals.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve the team processes and workflows, driving greater efficiency and effectiveness.

This role is a unique opportunity to help drive and support high priority initiatives for several teams within Gusto’s largest business unit. You will be empowered by the Chief of Staff to the Head of Product, joining a world-class Insights and Operations team balancing strategy, operations, and special projects to create a world where work empowers a better life.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in bizops, consulting, and/or program management, preferably in a high-growth technology startup environment OR 5+ years of experience in product management, program management, or a related field within a high-growth tech company.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • A passion for product development and a desire to make a significant impact on the success of Gusto's products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is between $122,000 - $152,000/year in Denver, and between $148,000 - $184,000/year for New York/San Francisco. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas. 

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.

Gusto's San Francisco office is located in a vibrant, up-and-coming area nestled between Potrero Hill and the bay. Formerly a shipbuilding hub dating back to the 1800s, this dockside area retains an industrial vibe. Gusties drive, bike, or take public transportation to our office.
