THE WORK:
Due to the growth of Ripple, we are looking for a dedicated Payroll Manager to lead our Company’s global payroll activities.
This role is part of our finance team and reports directly to the Director of Global Payroll. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a payroll team in a multifaceted environment, with a solid experience of both US and global payroll processes. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to meet targets consistently, leading recurring tasks while also contributing to special cross-functional projects and addressing unique challenges as they arise. A high level of emotional intelligence is very meaningful as this position involves building and maintaining relationships across multiple levels and functions within the Company. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional with the drive and expertise to lead the payroll team, focusing on compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Collaborate with multiple partners to provide support on global payroll related issues
- Proactively identify areas of process improvement within global payroll operations and implement solutions to automate and streamline processes to be scalable and drive efficiencies while maintaining strong quality controls
- Lead and manage the day to day global payroll activities ensuring accurate & timely processing in compliance with Company's policies and local tax and labor regulations
- Review and approve all payroll related transactions
- Ensure timely filings with appropriate government authorities
- Participate in the 2024 year-end payroll activities for the Americas
- Partner with cross functional groups within the Company including global tax operations, stock administration, employment litigation and people operations teams on global equity, global mobility and new business activities to ensure global payroll needs are identified, considered and communicated
- Maintain a complete understanding of all US federal/state wage and hour laws related to payroll including garnishments, benefits, leave of absence, 401k, FSA and taxes
- Optimize standard procedures for payroll processing, ensuring strong internal controls and segregation of duties.
- Partner on the the transition from ADP Streamline to ADP Celergo for five of our international entities within 2023.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Applicants with a BS degree or equivalent experience in payroll are encouraged to apply; CPP certification is a plus
- 7+ years work experience including multi state and payroll and taxes, including global mobility taxes
- 5+ years of managerial experience
- High emotional intelligence, ability to build and sustain relationships at multiple levels within and outside of finance
- Willing to “roll-up the sleeves” in order to accomplish all vital tasks
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Streamline, ADP Celergo, and/or other comparable payroll systems
- Experience onboarding new payroll solutions globally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate across departments and at all levels
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions to complex and unusual situations
- Strong work ethic and ability to be productive and successful in a fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality
- Experience with Payrolls larger than 1,000 employees
- Comfortable leading teams through ambiguity and be a champion of change
- Problem solving and decision-making capacity in a high growth environment
For positions that will be based in CA, the annual salary range for this position is below. Actual salaries may vary based on numerous factors including, among other things, an individual applicant’s experience and qualifications for the position. This range does not include equity or additional compensation, such as bonuses or commissions.
CA Annual Base Salary Range
$124,800—$156,000 USD
