The Role

The Executive Assistant will support two executives and own founder meeting scheduling for the Venture and Games partners. This is an opportunity to work alongside individuals who are driven by excellence and a passion for technology. The ideal candidate is a team player with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. Daily responsibilities include calendar management, coordinating virtual and in-person meetings, and travel. To join our team, you should be excited to:

  • Be a part of the investing team’s operations and interface with founders
  • Schedule partnership meetings with founders 
  • Handle communications, proactively managing inquiries, executive and founder relationships, and high-priority requests with discretion
  • Work cross-functionally with executive assistants and the ops team across the firm
  • Organize executive travel to attend meetings and conferences
  • Oversee event logistics in partnership with internal events team such as venue coordination, catering, program materials and gifts for executive meetings, offsites, and small curated dinners 
  • Organize team lunches
  • Support operational efficiency by tracking key deliverables and managing expenses
  • Continuously improve administrative processes, anticipating needs, streamlining workflows, and enhancing overall executive support

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of high level experience supporting multiple senior level executives or equivalent experience in strategic executive support, program and/or project management
  • A strong team player with low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, internally and externally
  • Ability to quickly build trust with colleagues and founders
  • Highly responsive, operates with urgency, proactive, and extremely professional with clear, concise communication skills
  • Thrives in ambiguity, demonstrates resourcefulness and knows how to get to an answer; ability to context switch
  • Operate autonomously in a fast paced environment, dynamic environment
  • Strong calendar management and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Discretion, diplomacy and excellent judgment; high degree of integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Advanced proficiency and fluency with Gmail, Google Calendar, and other Google Suite products as well as key applications such as Zoom
  • This role requires onsite presence in our Menlo Park and San Francisco offices, 5 days a week
  • Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $149,000-$165,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
